Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has hailed Miss Ebere Patricia Iwuagwu, popularly known in the entertainment industry as Commissioner DJ Wysei, as a talented figure who has elevated the status of Imo State and Nigeria on the global stage.

Governor Uzodimma, through an elaborate, star-studded reception at Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square, celebrated the achievements of the Mbaise-born DJ. The event, which was held overnight, also coincided with DJ Wysei’s birthday on November 2, further highlighting the significance of the occasion and reinforcing the Governor’s commitment to supporting Imo youths with exceptional talent.

Representing the Governor at the event, Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu, Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, lauded DJ Wysei’s achievements, emphasizing her status as the only African female DJ with more than two million TikTok followers. He was joined by key government officials, including the Special Adviser on Youths, Mr. Eric Uwakwe.

Dr. Ukaegbu remarked, “Commissioner DJ Wysei has carved out a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. The government is eager to celebrate all Imo natives who excel in their respective fields, encouraging them to contribute to the State’s growth.”

He highlighted that events like this reinforce the message that Imo State is safe and welcoming. “This event, held at midnight, is proof of the Governor’s efforts to ensure security and create an environment where celebrations can thrive.

Entertainers now have the confidence to return and perform in Imo, dispelling past fears about safety. His Excellency’s commitment makes future events like this increasingly possible,” Ukaegbu added.

The reception was also an opportunity to spotlight other talented Imo natives, with renowned television stations present to broadcast the event to a wider audience. “This celebration in Owerri showcases the Governor’s dedication to fostering a secure and vibrant community for the people,” Ukaegbu noted.

Among the dignitaries in attendance was Mr. Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff under ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha, who joined in recognizing DJ Wysei’s contributions and the event’s success.
