Additionally, the state government has awarded a foreign scholarship to Miss Favour Oluwatimilayo Toyin Adebayo, enabling her to further her studies in Poland. Miss Favour earned this opportunity through an exchange program while studying at Nasarawa State University. The scholarship covers her tuition, accommodation, and other essential expenses, ensuring her academic journey remains uninterrupted.
This was disclosed by the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, during the presentation of a complimentary scholarship cheque to Miss Favour on Friday.
Speaking on these initiatives, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Scholarship Board, Mr. Afolabi Joseph Raji, reaffirmed the government’s tireless commitment to ensuring academic success for every student from Kogi State. He emphasized that these bursaries and scholarships are part of Governor Ododo’s broader strategy to empower Kogi’s youth and reduce the financial pressures on students and their families.
It is worth recalling that in October 2024, Governor Ododo approved ₦600 million for the payment of WAEC fees, covering 18,734 Kogi State students in public secondary schools. This initiative ensured that no student was left behind in accessing critical educational opportunities, reflecting the governor’s dedication to building a brighter future for the state’s youth.
Governor Ododo’s administration continues to prioritize education as a cornerstone of its developmental agenda, fostering a culture of excellence and opportunity for Kogi’s students.
