The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has explained that the ban on tinted glasses and unregistered cars in the state is due to the increasing insecurity.

During a Church Service at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, Governor Nwifuru expressed his sadness over the recent killing of four police officers on Hilltop Road. The assailants used tinted glass and unregistered vehicles.

The Governor emphasized that it is unnecessary for public officials to hide behind tinted vehicles after being elected by the people. He shared his own experience as a former speaker, where he had his drivers remove all tinted glasses because he believed in being transparent.

Governor Nwifuru highlighted the impact of insecurity on farming activities and stressed that security should be everyone’s concern. He assured that the government has intelligence on the activities of these criminals and they will be held accountable soon.
