Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State recently welcomed Mr. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, the CEO of the Federal Housing Authority, and his team. The Governor expressed his commitment to sharing housing delivery experiences to benefit the Nigerian people.
During a courtesy visit, Governor Dapo Abiodun warmly received Mr. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, the esteemed Managing Director and CEO of the Federal Housing Authority, and his management team. The Governor assured them of his administration’s dedication to sharing invaluable experiences in housing delivery, aiming to assist them in making informed decisions for the benefit of the Nigerian people.
Over the past four years, the Ogun State Government has made significant strides in the construction of approximately 4000 affordable houses. However, their work is far from complete. Governor Abiodun projected that they will reach an impressive milestone of building around 10,000 houses. The previous projects, consisting of medium- and upper-income houses, have been highly successful, with every unit sold out. These luxurious four-bedroom detached homes featured boys quarters, top-notch infrastructure, water, and internet facilities.
Currently, the state government is fully engaged in an ambitious project known as the “Civil Servants Village.” Spanning across 50 hectares of land, this development aims to provide an excellent opportunity for the state’s workforce to not only purchase land but also build their own homes. Meticulous attention is being paid to infrastructure and layout to ensure that the Civil Servants Village offers professionals the ideal living spaces they desire.
Recognizing that housing is not only a significant employer but also fundamental to achieving Sustainable Development Goals, Governor Abiodun stressed the importance of supporting President Tinubu’s commendable efforts in providing affordable housing for Nigerians. As part of their commitment, the government plans to establish an online system that will allow Nigerians living abroad to conveniently invest in properties within the state. This system will also enable them to effortlessly track the development progress, regardless of their geographical location.
The Ogun State Government’s dedication to the housing sector reflects their commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians and creating a sustainable future.
