Governor Siminalayi Fubara, of Rivers state has alleged that some of the commissioners who angrily resigned from his cabinet last week left no record of their activities.

He said upon the exit of the commissioners, some documents were sought but could not be found in their ministries.

Fubara made the allegation on Tuesday while swearing in eight new commissioners screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly to fill up the vacancies in his cabinet.

Nine commissioners loyal to Fubara’s predecessor Nyesom Wike, resigned their appointment amid the raging feud between Fubara and Wike.

Five of the pro-Wike commissioners, who left Fubara’s cabinet last week, cited alleged toxic working environment.

While swearing in a new set of commissioners on Tuesday, Fubara urged them to act differently from those who left.

He charged them to cultivate the culture of keeping accurate records of their dealings in their various ministries of posting.

The eight new commissioners are Prince Charles Bekee, Collins Onunwo, Prince Solomon Eke, Dr Peter Medee,  Elloka Amadi, Basoene Benibo, Tambari Gbara and Dr Ovy Chukwuma.

Fubara also enjoined the new commissioners to emulate his work culture and pay attention to details, adding that it should reflect in the nature of the records they keep.

He added that discipline was central to his administration and that it was part of his work culture he nurtured while growing through the ranks in the civil service.
