In a significant proclamation, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, asserted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been ordained by God to serve as the President of Nigeria.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Marina, the royal father emphasized the divine nature of Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential poll.
The Oba of Benin urged all Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing the necessity for unity and peaceful coexistence.
According to him, Tinubu’s ascendancy to the presidency is a manifestation of God’s plan for the country, and he called for collective support to achieve a “greater Nigeria of our dreams.”
During the visit, Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II stressed the importance of diversity for the nation’s sustainable development. He encouraged citizens to resolve their differences and live harmoniously, fostering a sense of a united and peaceful family.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in response, expressed gratitude for the Oba’s visit and highlighted the commitment of Lagos State to inclusivity, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations.
The governor conveyed President Tinubu’s greetings to the Oba and underscored the government’s dedication to delivering tangible benefits to citizens.
Commending Governor Sanwo-Olu’s achievements, the Oba of Benin urged him not to relent in his efforts for greater heights during his second term.
The monarch also applauded the governor’s commitment to the promotion of culture and tradition, citing his visit to the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History.
In his closing remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu assured continued support for the Federal Government, echoing the commitment to providing real dividends of democracy.
