Turkish giants Galatasaray have confirmed that they are in negotiations with Napoli to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a loan deal.
The 25-year-old, who has been a target for several top clubs including Chelsea and Al-Ahli, is expected to move to Istanbul after failing to secure a permanent transfer away from Napoli.
Osimhen has been a key player for Napoli, scoring 76 goals in 133 games, including 26 goals in their title-winning 2022-23 Serie A campaign.
However, his form dipped last season, scoring 15 times in Serie A, and the arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea has further pushed him down the pecking order.
Galatasaray announced on social media that they have begun official negotiations with Osimhen and Napoli regarding a temporary transfer.
The deal is expected to be a straight loan without an option to buy, with a break clause for January in case a major club comes knocking.
The Turkish transfer window is still open until September 13, leaving ample time to finalize the deal.
