Host nation France, has secured a spot in the Olympic men’s football quarterfinals after topping Group A with three consecutive wins.
They will face Argentina, who finished second in Group B, in the quarterfinals.
France dominated their group stage matches, beating New Zealand 3-0 with 34 shots on goal. Argentina, meanwhile, secured their spot with a 2-0 win over Ukraine, thanks to goals from Thiago Almada and Claudio Echeverri.
The quarterfinals will also feature the USA, Egypt, Morocco, and Spain, who have all advanced from their respective groups. The final two quarterfinalists will be determined after the remaining group stage matches on Tuesday night
The France vs. Argentina quarterfinal match is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. WAT at the Matmut Atlantique stadium.
