The Nigerian Government has established centres across the country where citizens can purchase a 50kg bag of rice for N40,000.

This initiative, announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, aims to ease living conditions for citizens.

Idris revealed that the Federal Government has distributed 740 trucks of grains to states and has made 20 trucks available to each state governor for distribution to the poorest in society.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, the Minister emphasized that government is addressing the demands of protest organizers and that President Tinubu is already taking action on behalf of the people.

He encouraged citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase rice at a subsidized price, stating that more interventions are being made to address the country’s challenges.

The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to mitigate the effects of economic hardship and provide relief to Nigerians.
