Lawyer and human rights activist, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has pointed fingers at the Federal Government, accusing them of being responsible for the #Igbomustgo campaign in Lagos.
Ejiofor linked the campaign to President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Ononuga’s statement during the 2023 Presidential campaign build-up.
Ejiofor alleged that Ononuga’s ethnically charged statements against the Igbo community on social media may have influenced the mastermind behind the #IgboMustGo movement.
He claimed that Ononuga’s divisive rhetoric is being promoted by those he has influenced, leading to physical attacks, killings, and destruction of Igbo properties in Lagos.
Ejiofor believes this is a carefully planned agenda and has urged the Igbo community in Lagos to remain vigilant, stating that the conspiracy seems to have the backing of those in power.
He called for immediate attention to address the situation and prevent further escalation into full-scale violence.
