An overflow of citizens and an outpour of love and support reverberated throughout Kano state yesterday as the executive governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, laid the foundation for a three-layer interchange bridge at the Dan Agundi junction, and a clover leaf overpass bridge at the Tal’udu roundabout, both in Kano metropolis.
He revealed that the N27 billion worth major projects were initiated to reduce traffic congestion, ease travel, beautify the city, control pollution, and develop infrastructure in the ancient city.
He also noted that Kano, as a mega city deserves massive infrastructural transformation to cater for the needs of the over ten million urban dwellers and improve the socio-economic well-being of residents of the city.
Furthermore, he commented that it has been a tradition from his predecessors to finance both the gigantic, and grassroots level projects through the joint-account managed by the state and local government councils.
He also appealed to the people using the project routes and those close to the sites to exercise patience for the inconveniences they might face.
