The former Member representing Orsu State Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Hon. Ekene Nnodumele (Stainless), has reportedly been arrested by security operatives acting on the directive of the Imo State Government.

Hon. Nnodumele is alleged to have links with Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed Biafra agitator based in Finland, and is accused of sponsoring Ekpa’s criminal group believed to be operating in the troubled Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to credible sources, the former lawmaker is under investigation for allegedly financing these armed groups, with the intent of using them to influence political activities, especially ahead of the 2027 general elections.

These allegations mirror previous claims of his involvement in ballot box snatching and electoral violence during the 2023 elections.

The Imo State Government has vowed to continue its crackdown on individuals and groups allegedly undermining peace and security across the state, especially in communities like Orsu, which have been plagued by violent disturbances in recent years.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and support the government’s efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and their sponsors, regardless of their political or social status.
