The Governor of Abia State Dr Alex Otti has charged the Mayors of the 17 Local Government Areas of the state to make their LGAs conducive and safe for development as well as strengthening the security apparatus in their areas.
Speaking at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, Governor Otti who titled his speech, ’Expanding the Frontiers of development’ said his administration was not only just rehabilitating and reconstructing roads.
Furthermore, he disclosed plan to improve the economy of the State and assured them of his constant support as well as expressed appreciation to Labour party leaders.
He thanked them for participating in selection of the Mayors to be in charge of the local government areas for the next six months.
“Your primary term is to make the LGA conducive and safe for development.
Let me assure you that my doors will remain constantly open for you, do not hesitate to come for advice when need be” he said.
The Abia Commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Uzo Nwachukwu described the event as epoch making, said under the administration of Governor Otti,Abians will witness unprecedented progress and development.
Continuing, he explained that non of the selected person lobby for any of the position, hence there was no doubt that they would give in their best.
