Eleven persons have been registered dead in a motor accident in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State.
Spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
He said the very sad incident happened on Saturday 23rd December 2023 at about 1200hrs, when two vehicles had a head-on collision at Kwanar Gujungu town in Taura Local Government.
According to him “The ugly incident happened when a motor vehicle Honda L.E ash in colour with registration number NSR 469 AE driven by one Abdullahi Muhammad, conveying five (5) passengers from Kano heading to Balangu town Kafin Hausa LGA and, another motor vehicle Golf Wagon red in colour with registration number AUY 292 XA driven by one Safiyanu Mamu conveying four (4) passengers from Gujungu heading to Taura LGA had a head-on collision at Kwanar-Gujungu town in Taura local government”
“Upon receiving the report, a team of Police personnel from the Motor Traffic Department (MTD) Taura Divisional Police Headquarters, rushed to the scene and conveyed the corpses to the General Hospital, where they were confirmed dead by the Medical Doctor.
The Commissioner of Police(CP) on behalf of the officers and men of the command, expressed his heartfelt condolence to the deceased’s’ family and relatives.
