The Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Leena Pylvanainen, and Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy, Mr. Seun Fakuade, recently met at the Embassy of Finland to discuss potential collaboration on the Knowledge Zone project. This project has received a substantial $80 million investment from the African Development Bank Group.

The primary objective of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone project is to position Ekiti State as a leading destination for attracting and integrating ideas, talents, and innovations within Nigeria.

During the meeting, the Nigerian delegation expressed their eagerness to learn from Finland’s successful policies, initiatives, and decisions that have shaped their innovation-driven, knowledge-based economies and high-tech production in the twenty-first century.

They believe that the challenges, inspiration, ideas, and insights gained from Finland’s journey could prove invaluable for the Knowledge Zone project in Ekiti State.

The administration in Ekiti State remains firmly committed to fostering innovation-driven growth, scientific research, industrialization, and creating a conducive environment that empowers entrepreneurs to develop, prototype, and scale their solutions.

This collaboration with Finland is seen as a significant step towards achieving these goals.
