…Flags Off Healthcare Program, Commissions ICT Centre.

As part of his effort to sustain and deepen the fulfillment of his campaign promises, stimulate economic activities and growth and help small businesses survive present harsh economic realities, Distinguished Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, will on Friday, August 2, 2024, flag off distribution of cash grant to petty traders in Owerri Zone.

Within the same week, the Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, Owerri Zone and Chairman Senate Committee on National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure NASENI, will also flag off his health insurance enrollment scheme program, and commission an ICT Centre.

Targeted at helping those who will benefit from it to, sustain, grow and stabilize their businesses, in the face of the prevailing economic downturn in the country, the well thought out economic stimulus package, will see to the empowerment of traders in twenty seven markets, in the nine local government areas in the zone.

In addition to helping small businesses grow and thrive, the lawmaker is hoping beneficiaries would in the near future become economically and financially stable and viable, creating personal wealth which would spur more productivity, job creation, and ultimately societal prosperity.

This latest business support initiative aligns with the lawmakers micro economic and human capital development policy, which has remained a priority concern to him over the years,as demonstrated by his long list of stimulus and empowerment drives.

In the just ended legislative year, pursuant to this policy, about three hundred people were trained in various skills, Solar Installation and Maintenance, Woodwork, Modern Welding and ICT and empowered with tools. Also, another one hundred got trained in photography and videography and resettled.

Similarly, hundreds have been trained and empowered in cooking and culinary skills, fashion design, baking and confectionary, phone maintenance and repair to mention a few; just as he has distributed hundreds of 5KVA generators for the same objective of helping small businesses grow.

Other projects expected to be unveiled alongside the trader grant program this week, are the commissioning of fully equipped ICT Centre in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Orji,as well as the flag off of his Health Insurance Enrollment Scheme, at Rockview Hotel, Owerri.

While the trader grant is billed to commence on Friday, 2nd August, 2024, the health insurance scheme will take place on Thursday, August 1,2024, while the commissioning of the ICT Centre will take place on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024.
