The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has arrived the State amidst jubilation after his victory at the Supreme Court last Friday.
The Governor arrived Akanu Ibiam International Airport at exactly 3:40pm
Joining to receive the Ebonyi leader on Sunday at the Executive Council Chamber New Government House, Abakaliki were members of the National Assembly from Ebonyi State, civil society organisations, members of the academia, founding fathers, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Governor Francis Nwifuru reiterated his administration’s commitment towards lifting Ebonyians out of poverty and social exclusion.
He expressed gratitude to God for the judiciary’s bold stance in defending the wishes of Ebonyians through the ballots in the general election.
Governor Nwifuru, who eulogised Ebonyians for their prayers while the legal battle challenging his election lasted, also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for non-interference in the judicial process.
While emphasising his determination for job creation, Governor Nwifuru hinted his desire towards industrialising the state even as he decried the absence of any industry that would move the state from a consumer to a manufacturing state.
Ex-Governor Martin Elechi, Engr. Ben Okah who spoke on behalf of the founding fathers and Elders Council respectively,, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi who spoke on behalf of the National Assembly, Hon Felix Okemini who spoke on behalf of the youth, in their separate speeches, congratulated the governor for his resounding victory at the Supreme Court.
