The executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru presented the state house with the 2024 state budget of 204 billion Naira, he noted that the proposed budget will heavily represent the “People’s chatter of needs” in Ebonyi state.
Governor Nwifuru disclosed this in Abakaliki during the community-based input event on proposed 2024 Budget.
The Governor highlighted specific sectors like education, work, health, and human capital as the numero uno of his government in 2024.
His statement partly reads, “During the year, we will ensure that we capture our people, who have been into hawking in different parts of the country and engage them in various skills.
“Our people also deserve qualitative education, and we shall invest enormously in the education sector. We have plans to take no fewer than 300 graduates on scholarship for their master’s program. We are going to revamp our primary and secondary school levels.”
The Commissioner for Finance, Dr Leonard Uguru, further broke the budget down into N132.8bn capital expenditure and N71.3bn recurrent expenditure.
