The government of Ebonyi state has organized an ongoing 4-day orientation for the new political appointees (Batch II) comprising Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants to the Governor of Ebonyi State.
One of the lectures centered on Ebonyi State E-Procurement System, promoting competition, transparency, efficiency, value for public funds and accountability in Ebonyi State.
E-Procurement System in Government is the digitalization of procurement processes for efficiency and transparency. It ensures that from advertisement of contracts, bidding processes, verification of contractors, etc, that the entire stages are done online.
These are indicators that provide national and global transparency ratings. All the activities of the State can be rated through the activities on the website. It shows integrity, transparency and accountability of the Government of Ebonyi State, led by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
The special assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene Oketa noted that it is not so much of a surprise though, given that His Excellency, the Governor, has a Master’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, from the prestigious Salford University, Manchester, United Kingdom. A knowledge evidently put in practice for the good of Ebonyi people, he concluded.
