Sharing is caring

Ebonyi State Government on Sunday held the 2023 Special Bazaar and Thanksgiving Mass, with a call on political office holders to use this period of Christmas to identify with the less privileged.

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru made the call at the Government House Chapel, Abakaliki.

The Governor noted that the thanksgiving is in deep appreciation to Almighty God for divine protection, and providence and expressed gratitude to God for seeing the state through the 2023 and enjoined worshippers to always pray for the state.

The Governor who took the first Bible reading from the book of Isaiah 61v1-2-10-11, enjoined
Christian faithful to avail themselves of the opportunity for “God’s spirit to rest on them” to advance His mission for mankind.

The Governor explained that everyone has reasons to be thankful to God, if not for anything, at least, for life.

“We are thanking God for so many things. You can look at what brought you from where you were to where you are now.

“We are thanking God for the privilege to be here.

“We are thanking God for life and sound health. It is only when you have not gone to the hospital that you will not thank God.
“If you look at the first reading, you will understand we have an assignment.
“You have every reason to go to church and thank God ”

He called on various political actors to close ranks and work with his government to move the state forward.

Earlier, the State Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria, the Father Joseph Origbo, identified cardinal points of mission, identity, and result as the crux of man’s sojourn on earth.

To execute Godly assignment, Father Origbo said “man must understand his mission, backed by divine identity which ultimately births results.”

Various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government featured in the Thanksgiving Mass even as the Governor was accompanied by past Governors, Members of National Assembly, and Members of State Executive Council
