The Transition Committee Chairman of Dunukofia LGA, C. C. Ozumba Esq. has said that his administration will, in line with the Governor Soludo’s top agenda prioritise security in Dunukofia. This aims at ensuring maximum protection of lives, properties and ridding the Local Government Area from all forms of crimes and social order.
Speaking during the interactive meeting held in his office on Tuesday, 30th July, 2024, the LG Mayor urged all the security agencies and community leaders in the Local Government Area to always cooperate among each other and work in synergy to make Dunukofia secure, liveable and prosperous which is part of the pivots of Governor Soludo’s 5 Pillars of Administration.
He added that peace and security is not negotiable and his administration will frown seriously at any act that is capable of threatening the existing tranquility in Dunukofia. He noted that Dunukofia is the only homogeneous Local Government Area in Nigeria and therefore should not be allowed to suffer any security challenges.
In his words, the Mayor asserted that, “security is everybody’s business and eternal vigilance is the watch word. Citizens should be ready to provide information concerning any security threat anywhere around them.”
He charged the security operatives to be more responsive and put in more gallantly in the discharge of their duties.
The meeting was attended by the DPO of Dunukofia Police Division, SP. Green Offor, Director of DSS in Charge of Dunukofia, Joy Audu, Commander Dunukofia Strike Force of the Vigilante Group, Mmaduabuchi Nwafor,
O/C State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of Dunukofia, President Generals of Dunukofia Communities,
Commanders of Communities’ Vigilant Groups among others.
