A shocking incident has come to light in Adamawa State, where a 24-year-old woman, Blessing (surname withheld), has been arrested for selling her three-year-old biological brother to fund her upcoming traditional wedding.
According to reports, Blessing, who hails from Enugu State but resides in Mubi, Adamawa State, was desperate to raise funds for her wedding and resorted to the illegal and inhumane act.
She sold her toddler brother and used the proceeds to buy a grinding machine to start a business and also gave her boyfriend N200,000 to purchase items required for their traditional wedding.
The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, with Superintendent of Police (SP) Suleiman Nguroje stating that Blessing and her boyfriend had planned the deal together.
Blessing has confessed to the crime, and an investigation is ongoing.
This disturbing incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the lengths to which some individuals will go to achieve their goals, even if it means harming their own family members.
