The Coalition of Southeast Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has thrown its weight behind the Southeast governors’ resolution to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the possible release of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Leader, Nnamdi Kanu. COSELY said Kanu’s release would usher in security, progress, and development, especially in the Southeast.
“The release of Kanu is critical for the security and peace in the region. It will put criminal elements who have capitalised on his incarceration to perpetuate crime using IPOB as cover out of business’ ‘ said the group’s President-General Goodluck Ibem. “Ibem added that Kanu’s freedom would not only ‘’pave the way for dialogue and a peaceful resolution to the longstanding issues in the Southeast,’’ but ‘’help de-escalate tension and foster a more constructive conversation between the government and other agitation groups in the nation.”
