Community stakeholders in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, have come forward to support the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, SPACAS, Obosi Sector, Anambra State, amidst allegations of unethical practices. They dismiss the claims as malicious and aimed at discrediting the anti-cult efforts.

In response to recent allegations made against the Special Anti-Cultism Squad (SPACAS) in Obosi Sector, Anambra State, community stakeholders in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area, have voiced their support for the police. They consider the allegations to be baseless and a deliberate attempt to undermine the hard work of the anti-cult warlords.

A spokesperson for the stakeholders, who wishes to remain anonymous due to safety concerns, called on the public to disregard the malicious outcry published in a national daily online. The spokesperson explained that the raid on a family house in Ukwulu Community was the result of a confession made by a previously arrested suspect. This led the SPACAS to uncover a den where various criminal activities were taking place.

The stakeholders expressed their disappointment with a recent online publication by a reputable human rights group, Intersociety, as reported by The Sun. They felt that the publication misrepresented the arrest and interrogation of the accused youths who were allegedly involved in cultism and other criminal activities under the guise of being students at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam.

The stakeholders urged the public and police authorities to dismiss the malicious publication, emphasizing that the suspects in their community were known for their notorious behavior. They also mentioned that substances suspected to be hard drugs were recovered from some of the arrested individuals.

The arrival of the Anti-Cultism Squad in their community was seen as a divine intervention by the stakeholders. They believe that the efforts of the police will help curb criminal activities and maintain peace and security in Ukwulu.
