The Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Pauly Onyeka, has urged the Agulu community in Anaocha LGA, Anambra State, to safeguard government projects, including the newly renovated modern fire station in their area, from vandalism.
Representing Hon. Pauly Onyeka at the official handing over ceremony of the Agulu Fire Station to the Ministry of Power and Water Resources, for subsequent transfer to the Anambra State Fire Service, Mr. Ojeleke Samuel, the Director of Building Construction and Maintenance Department, Ministry of Housing, highlighted the commitment of Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to delivering development to the people of Anambra State.
He emphasized the importance of preventing theft and vandalism of these facilities, as the government cannot afford to waste its resources in the state.
Additionally, he urged the Ministry of Power to promptly propose and initiate the construction of perimeter fencing around the station.During the opening remarks, Engr. Chukwuma Julius, the representative of the Commissioner of Power and Water Resources, and Mrs. Ify Uzoka, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, expressed gratitude to the Governor for revitalizing the abandoned Agulu Fire Station.
They emphasized the need for the maximum protection of the facilities through the installation of perimeter fencing around the fire station office and existing facilities.
Both representatives commended the contractors for their excellent work and encouraged them to maintain the established security measures until the fence is constructed.
