The 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence, GBV, has continued to garner momentum as the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo takes the message to students.
Speaking to students of Kenneth Dike Memorial Secondary, Awka, the Women Commissioner highlighted the dangers of indecent dressing, rape and its consequences, and repercussions of drug use in society and encouraged them to speak up when they encounter problems relating to gender-based violence.
Some of the students of the school, Messrs Nonso Ofonze, Rita Nwafor, and Chioma Okonkwo who shared what they learnt after the talk all promised to take the message to their various homes and communities.
The event is organized by state Ministries of Health and Women and Social Welfare in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO).
