Commissioner For Housing Anambra State Gives Cash Awards To Staff, Retirees

The Commissioner For Housing Anambra State, Hon Pauly Onyeka, recently appreciated his staff, with multiple awards in both cash and gifts as a way of marking the end of the year and appreciating workers’ performance and contributions in the ministry in 2023.

Hosting the entire staff of the ministry at the gift presentation event at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat Building Complex, Awka, the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Pauly Onyeka welcomed and appreciated all the staff for having come to the end of the year which was by the grace of God.

He used the occasion to x-ray the activities of the ministry.

He encouraged those who come to work regularly despite the high cost of transportation, urging them to sustain it, while promising to reward their efforts.

He urged the indolent ones to change, noting that hardwork, discipline and humility is required in life to grow, even as he asked them to imbibe the culture of putting God first, adding that with the grace of God, the gate of success will be opened to them .

Hon. Onyeka enjoined them to do the right thing always and never to neglect or disregard any person because one may not know where his help may come from.

Reacting to questions from the staff, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs lfeoma Ezeaku said that those in the list were selected by the entire ministry.

She however, advised those not included in the list not to be confrontational to constituted authority or become obstacles because one day, they would be in positions of authority.

The first position of Best Worker in the ministry went to Builder .Okey Ezeowu of the Building Department, who received a mouth watering gift while the second and the third positions went to Mr Chigozie Onyeso ( Planning Research and Statistic Department ) and Quantity Surveyor Akora Clement (Quantity Survivor Department),respectively they were also compensated adequatly .
Every other staff in the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary’s Offices, including the six departments – Architecture, Quantity Surveying , Administrative, Building Construction & maintenance, Planning Research and Statistics and Account received cash rewards .

Equally, four retired staff in the ministry also received awards of cash and gifts at the occasion. They are Mrs Jonathan Blessing and Mrs Obiefuna Fidelis, both of the Administrative Department; Architect Nwonu Cyprian (Architecture Department) and Nwankwo Cecilia (Quantity Surveyor Department).
