The spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Church Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against selecting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its 2027 presidential candidate.
In a video shared on his social media handle, Primate Ayodele stated that Atiku’s candidacy would lead to the PDP’s downfall, saying: “PDP, if you want to fail, give Atiku your presidency. You will see that you will fail. It is going to be a cheap victory for APC.”
He emphasized that Atiku is not the right choice for the PDP in 2027, warning that his selection would signal the end of the party. “If you try Atiku, then, politically, PDP is dead. That is the end of PDP,” he said.
Atiku has made several attempts to become Nigeria’s president, including his 2023 bid, which ended in defeat to President Bola Tinubu.
Primate Ayodele’s warning comes as the PDP prepares for its 2027 presidential primaries.
