CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso has reassured Nigerians that the prevailing economic challenges will soon be a thing of the past.

Cardoso said this during a meeting held on Friday with the Senate and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic team, addressing concerns regarding the nation’s economy, widespread hunger, and the depreciation of the Naira.

“It is a collaborative endeavor. There may be challenges along the way, but we are committed to restoring Nigeria to its former prosperity,” stated the CBN governor.

Following an invitation extended by the Senate, the entire economic team under President Tinubu was summoned to appear on Friday, subsequent to the previous week’s summoning of CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso.

The economic team comprises key figures such as Minister of Finance Olawale Edun, Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, CBN Governor Cardoso, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Zacch Adedeji, and Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, among others.

Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banks, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, explained that last week’s scheduled meeting with the CBN Governor had to be postponed due to Cardoso’s prior commitments at the House of Representatives
