The leading Anambra South Senatorial Aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Chief Ebuka Onunkwo has dismissed as untrue an alleged letter to Gov Charles Soludo over the nomination of a candidate for the party in the coming election.
Recall that Ebuka Onunkwo had come up tops over and above the eight aspirants for the ticket of the party at the electoral college primaries conducted by the governor himself and ever since his traducers who lost in the contest have not gone to sleep.
There attack currently is the circulation of a certain letter attributed to him to have threatened Gov Charles Soludo that his decision in the choice of candidate for the by election would determine his fate in the November gubernatorial election.
In a statement by the Ebuka Onunkwo Campaign Organization he described the said letter as not only mischievous but snacks of the activities of the fifth columnist who are out to justify their paid agents.
“We wish to categorically disassociate Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo and his campaign organisation from the contents, tone, and intentions of the said publication”
“While we acknowledge the democratic rights of party members and citizens to express their opinions, we firmly maintain that Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo did not authorise, inspire, or support the release of that letter”
‘This confrontational and speculative narrative does not reflect our values, principles, or strategic approach to internal party affairs”
“Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo holds His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, in the highest esteem as the leader of our great party”
“It’s worthy of note to state that Dr Onunkwo has consistently demonstrated faith in due process and reposes confidence in the internal mechanisms of the party to ensure justice and fairness “it stated.
The statement further contended that the plot is to brand Onunkwo an enemy of the party and governor which they strongly reject.
“We strongly reject any attempt to drag the name of Dr Ebuka Onunkwo into divisive political commentary or to use his legitimate aspiration as a tool to undermine the Governor or the party structure”
“We hereby urge the general public, the APGA family, and the media to disregard any insinuation that links Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo to the said publication. We reaffirm our commitment to party unity, discipline, and respect for constituted authority”
“For clarity, Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo remains focused on serving Ndi Anambra South with humility, vision, and purpose — not through confrontation, but through cooperation and respect for due process” it stated.
