Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen last night edged closer to their first title with a comfortable 2- 0 win at home to Wolfsburg.
The win help restore their 10-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga after Bayern had reduced it to Seven following their annihilation of Mainz a day before.
Leverkusen took the lead eight minutes after Wolfsburg had been reduced to ten men when Nathan Tella headed in.
Florian Wirtz collected Exequiel Palacios’ pass to make it 2-0 four minutes from time.
The victory was a sixth in a row for Xabi Alonso’s side.
They are top with 67 points, while defending champions Bayern Munich are second on 57 after Thomas Tuchel’s team thrashed Mainz 05 8-1.
