Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has revealed that former President Muhammadu Buhari never wanted President Bola Tinubu to succeed him.
In an interview with Tribune, Lamido stated that Buhari preferred ex-Senate President Ahmed Lawan as his successor, but lacked the courage to push through his choice.
Lamido also claimed that Buhari never trusted his former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, to succeed him.
He described Tinubu as a “daring and self-made man” who owes his emergence as President to nobody.
Lamido’s comments come after Tinubu’s controversial emergence as President, with some officials from Buhari’s administration allegedly working against his candidacy.
Tinubu had previously declared “Emi Lokan” (it’s my turn) during his campaign, hinting at perceived opposition from Buhari’s camp.
Lamido’s revelation sheds light on the complex political dynamics surrounding Tinubu’s presidency and Buhari’s alleged preferences for his successor.
