Brentford Reach Agreement With Liverpool For Carvalho

Liverpool has agreed to sell young forward Fabio Carvalho to Brentford in a deal worth £27.5m, including add-ons.

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 for £5m, and his impressive performances have earned him a significant profit for the Reds.

As part of the deal, Liverpool has negotiated a 17.5% sell-on clause, ensuring they will benefit if Carvalho is sold again in the future.

Fulham, Carvalho’s former club, will also receive 20% of the profit from his move to Brentford.

Carvalho had attracted interest from Southampton, but Liverpool rejected their offer of £15m, deeming it too low. Instead, he will join Brentford, where he will hope to establish himself as a regular starter.

Despite impressing during Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States, Carvalho faced stiff competition for places at Anfield, particularly with the return of first-team players after Euro 2024 and the Copa America.

He spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, scoring nine goals in 20 games for the Tigers.

The move to Brentford offers Carvalho a fresh start and the opportunity to develop his skills in the Premier League.
