The crisis rocking APC in Enugu state took a new twist on Sunday with the suspension of 20 of its members due to gross indiscipline and disregard for the party’s constitution.
The suspension was announced by the Ugochukwu Agballah-led faction on Sunday, August 25, during a stakeholders’ meeting.
This move is seen as a retaliatory action against the rival faction led by Alphonsus Nwafor, which had recently suspended Agballah and other party officials.
The Agballah-led faction has now fought back by suspending all members involved in the act, as contained in a communique read by Senator Utazi at the end of the meeting.
The suspension highlights the deepening crisis within the party, with both factions engaging in a tit-for-tat exchange of disciplinary actions.
The development has raised concerns about the party’s unity and ability to present a cohesive front ahead of future elections.
