Former Kano State governor and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has inaugurated a six-man committee of governors tasked with the coordination of the party’s activities in all the geo-political zones of the country.
The committee also has the mandate to liaise with the party to carry out and implement an immediate process for the reconciliation of aggrieved party members in the various zones.
Ganduje, during the inauguration of the committee in Abuja on Wednesday, stated that the six governors have the mandate to carry out a regular interface between the governors of the zones and the leadership of the party.
Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is charged with coordinating the activities of the party in the South-west zone, while Hope Uzodinma of Imo State takes control of the party in the South-East.
Bassey Otu of Cross Rivers State is to lead in the South-South, while AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State takes charge of North-Central.
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State is the coordinator of the North-East, whereas the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani would be in charge of the party’s activities in the North-West.
Speaking on the committee’s terms of reference, Ganduje stated; “Mobilise Governors of the zones to effectively and physically participate in party activities within and outside the zone.”
