Anambra State, under Governor Soludo, has continued to achieve remarkable success in education by winning FIVE prestigious awards at the 2024 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award, held at the Eagles Square Abuja as part of the World Teachers’ Day activities organized by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The awards won by Anambra State are as follows:
1) Overall Best Teacher in ALL categories; Nwosu Joseph Afamefuna of Government Technical College, Osomala, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra. He received a STAR prize of a brand-new Hyundai Accent.
2) Second Best Secondary School in the whole Federation; Holy Child Secondary School Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Anambra.
3) Second Best Primary Head Teacher in the whole Federation; Chukwudumeme Franca Adaeze of Aforigwe Primary School Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra.
4) Second Best Secondary School Principal in the whole Federation; Dr. Umezinwa, Grace Amara of Girls High School Uga, Aguata LGA, Anambra.
5) Teachers of Anambra took the 2nd position in the March Past of the 37 states and Federal Education parastatals.
These awards reflect the commitment of Governor Soludo to ensuring teachers’ welfare and providing value and skill-based education in the State.
