The United Nations Development Programme, UNDP has expressed their readiness to partner with Anambra state government to develop and implement sustainable youth development programmes for the state.
The Coordinator of UNDP, Mrs Joyce Oburu, during a visit to the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha Mba, revealed that they are ready to support the state government to maximize the full potential of the “1 Youth 2 Skills” empowerment programme.
She noted that the programme is a complete package that has the capacity to reposition the socio-economic status of the state for the better and commended Governor Soludo for driving the project.
In response, Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Agha Mba, noted that their visit was to consolidate on their earlier resolve to form a progressive partnership.
Mr Agha Mba commended their commitment towards ensuring that Anambra youths benefits from its programmes and assured his cooperation.
He emphasized that the partnership is timely as it will energize the 1 Youth 2 Skills programme for greater productivity.
Mr Agha Mba further thanked Governor Soludo for his support and dedication to youth development in Anambra state and assured that the second phase of the programme will be more impactful.
Present at the meeting were the Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Youth Development, Engr. Tony Omata, UNDP focal person, Mr Kosi Wetala among others.
