The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, handed over the premises of the defunct National Light printing and publishing company for the construction of a Neighborhood Leisure Park. The aim is to create a recreational space for the residents.
The Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Onyeka, emphasized the importance of ensuring value for money and proper supervision of the project. The goal is to make sure that the state government and the people of Anambra get the best value for every kobo spent on the project.
During the event, the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, and the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr. Ossy Onuko, praised the government’s decision to create a beautiful recreational park for the state’s residents.
The Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Pauly Onyeka, highlighted the significance of the project in line with the administration’s vision of creating a livable, prosperous, and smart mega city. He emphasized the importance of recreation in improving the quality of life and happiness of the people.
Furthermore, the Commissioner mentioned that the project would serve as an example for other developers to follow, showcasing the state’s commitment to implementing the new housing policy and creating a sustainable environment for the residents.
