In a significant boost to his senatorial aspirations, the Zonal Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra South have unanimously endorsed Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr. to contest for the Anambra South Senatorial seat in the 2025 bye-election.
This endorsement was made during an extraordinary meeting of the Anambra South APC Executive Committee, held at the country home of Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr (Ikenga Nnewi) on December 26, 2024. The meeting was led by the Zonal Chairman, Chief Izu Okeke, who emphasized the party’s united support for Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr’s senatorial bid.
Chief Izu Okeke noted that the circumstances surrounding the election necessitate a clear stance and united effort from the party. He highlighted that Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr’s selection was based on his exceptional leadership qualities, grassroots appeal, and ability to carry on the legacy of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The endorsement was unanimous, with all members of the Zonal Executive Committee present pledging their total support for Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr’s candidacy. The Nnewi South APC Chairman, Mazi Chidi Orjika, moved a motion for Dozie Ikedife Jr to be adopted as the sole and consensus candidate of the party, which was unanimously adopted.
In his acceptance remarks, Chief Dozie Ikedife Jr thanked the party for the confidence reposed in him and promised not to let the party and the people of Anambra South down.
