Anambra Police Commissioner Declare War On Attackers Of Personnels / Stations

Following the attacks on Police officers and men in Anambra state Police Commissioner Ikioye Orutugu has announced a full scale war on gunmen.

Similarly the 179 Communities have offered to assist the Command in the protection of Police Stations and other formations in the state.

According to CP Orutugu while speaking with reporters in Awka due to the full scale war on gunmen cases of attack on officers and men of the Command has reduced drastically adding that with the synergy between the local vigilante groups as well as the Agunechemba Security Squad the police is highly emboldened to fight crime in the state.

“Yes it has been worrisome and we have declared full scale war on those miscreants that have been attacking our men and we have been going after them”.

“Similarly the Communities in Anambra state have been supportive towards ensuring the safety of our men in their towns and they have offered to protect our police stations” he said.

Orutugu further expressed the robust relationship between the Inspector General of Police and Gov Charles Soludo noting that it has been far reaching in the fight against insecurity in the state.

“I must say that the relationship between the Inspector General of Police and Gov Charles Soludo has been instrumental to the success story of crime fighting in Anambra state”

“So if I have any challenge it is easy for the Command to pull through and once I inform my IGP every gray areas would be taken care of ”

“But that is not to say that we are there yet and it is not yet Uhuru in the area of crime fighting and I have served in several places such as Darfur and in peace keeping forces and you cannot get a perfect security situation anywhere in the world but we keep moving ” he said
