Anambra Labour Party Women Leaders Declares Support For Chief Dr George Moghalu

The Immediate Past Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and a frontline Anambra Labour Party governorship aspirant, Chief Dr George moghalu has met with 21 local government women leaders of the party, led by the state woman leader, on December 28, 2024, in Nnewi to inform them of his governorship ambition through the party and seek for their support and prayers. This meeting was part of his ongoing efforts to engage with party stakeholders and build support for his governorship bid.

During the meeting, Moghalu expressed his gratitude to the women for their dedication to the party and assured them that their efforts would not be in vain if he becomes the governor. He emphasized the importance of women’s support, stating that when women back a project, it is likely to achieve sweeping success. Moghalu also acknowledged women’s reliability and their ability to bring positive change, making a solemn promise not to fail them.

The women leaders led by the state woman leader, Amara Ewim in turn, pledged their maximum support to help Chief Moghalu achieve his goals. This development is significant, as Chief Moghalu seeks to leverage the support of women leaders to drive his governorship bid, particularly in addressing the current security challenges facing Anambra State.

Chief Moghalu’s meeting with the women leaders is part of his broader efforts to engage with party stakeholders. He has also met with the Labour Party’s Anambra Assembly caucus informing of his decision to contest the 2025 governorship election.
