The joint security team in the Anambra state, led by the police, has dislodged a notorious criminal camp in Ogbunka, Orumba South Local Government Area, after an intense gun battle with the criminal that lasted for about six-hour gun inside the bush.
The Joint Security Team comprising the Army, from the 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), Navy from the Naval Command, Department of State Security, Anambra State Vigilante, acting on information received over time dislodged a criminal Camp at Ogbunka.
The spokesman of Anambra state police command SP Tochukwu Ikenga said team had over six hours gun battle with the armed criminals and due to the superior firepower from the team diffused some explosives used as shields on the camp by the hoodlums.
According to him, the team recovered a lot of relief materials like pots, foodstuffs and parts of dismembered suspected stolen vehicles even as some of the criminals escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries inflicted on them.
The Operatives he said have taken over the area to sustain security dominance aimed at addressing any untoward situation that may arise and to possibly arrest the fleeing suspects.
He however said that the Anambra State Police Command has assures on behalf of other security agencies that the confidence reposed on her by Ndi Anambra and residents alike for the protection of lives and properties is not taken for granted.
