Bar Vin Ezeaka, Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), has expressed the possibility of lifting the employment ban in the commission in Anambra State.
He highlighted the issue of ghost workers receiving salaries and emphasized the need for collective efforts to fight corruption and eliminate ghost workers from the system.
During a Leadership Retreat organized by the Idemili South Local Government Area, members of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) pleaded for the employment of more LG staff.
They highlighted that no general recruitment has taken place in the commission since 2002.
The retreat focused on showcasing the achievements of the LG departments in 2023 and their plans for increased productivity in 2024, aligning with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision.
Comrade Nicholas Arumeh, Deputy President of NULGE Anambra State, commended Soludo for his efforts in road construction and pleaded with him and the LGSC Chairman to prevent the phase-out of the LGA system.
