The Anambra State First Lady, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo yesterday visited Nnobi general hospital in Idemili South local government area to celebrate babies born on New Year’s Day.
Recalled that Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR declared free antenatal and free delivery services for all the pregnant women in the state. Dr. Mrs Soludo on her part, showered gifts on the first babies of the year in all the government hospitals in the state.
In her remark, Idemili South Council Mayor, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), commended Anambra First Lady, Dr. Nonye Soludo for her commitment towards the progress of women and children in the state.
She said that Governor Soludo and his wife, Mrs Soludo had been improving the livelihood of residents in the state, stating that Mr. Governor is easing the sufferings of the people through different empowerment programmes and apart from it, he has given free education to children in all the government schools in the state and declared free antenatal and free delivery services to pregnant women.
She prayed that Almighty God will continue to bless the first family and guide them in their efforts to take the state to greater heights.
His Royal Highness Igwe Engr. Nick Obi Igwe omenyili of Nnobi, High Chief Emeka Ezeonu (Ikenga Nnobi), Chairman of Awuda village, Chief Emeka, community women leader, Hon. Chief Ifenyinwa Nnekwelugo and many others were present during the visitation.
