Anambra Commissioner, Engr. Chukwuemeka Reaffirms Soludo’s Developmental Promises

Anambra State Commissioner For Power And Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, has reiterated Governor Charles Soludo’s commitment to sustainable development for the people of Anambra.

Honourable Julius Chukwuemeka made this reaffirmation during an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Nnewi Water Scheme on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Speaking with journalist in Awka The Honourable Commissioner highlighted the significance of the massive Nnewi Water Scheme as a critical step in fulfilling Governor Soludo’s campaign promises to Ndị Anambra.

He also emphasized that the project exemplifies the administration’s dedication to improving essential infrastructure for the citizens.

He detailed that the scheme will utilize three different power sources—solar, transformers, and generators—to ensure its sustainability and uninterrupted service.

According to him, this multifaceted approach reflects the
administration’s forward-thinking strategy in addressing the state’s power challenges and securing reliable water supply for the entire 21 Local Government Areas in the State.

Engr. Chukwuemeka further noted that similar construction efforts are ongoing in various urban centres, alongside 68 other projects in rural communities across the state.

“What we saw is more like a step towards fulfilling Mr Governor’s promise to Ndị Anambra. For Sustainability, the Scheme will be running on three sources of power, Primary Source (Solar), Transformer, and Generators.

“From the landscaping, we have a clean and green environment there. Essentially, we are giving Nnewi a clean and sustainable water supply with about 20 20-kilometre target.

“We are also engaged in the construction of different structures for different sections geared towards giving Nnewi among others clean water supply.

“Similarly, other parts of the State including Onitsha, Otuocha, Awka, Ogidi, Ihiala, Agulu, Obosi, Achala, Umunze, Mkpologu, Awkuzu, Osamala, among 68 others in the rural areas are not left behind, as work is ongoing simultaneously to ensure comprehensive water schemes for the entire Ndi Anambra.”

Significantly enough, Governor Soludo’s administration continues to demonstrate a robust commitment to elevating the quality of life for all Anambra residents, aligning with broader goals of sustainable development and infrastructural resilience.
