Anambra state government has earmarked N200 Billion for road infrastructure in 2025 fiscal year.
This was contained in the breakdown of the 2025 budget as was presented to Anambra state House of Assembly by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and read to the media during a media briefing by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, at her office in Jerome Udorji Secretariate, Awka.
According to the commissioner who was flanked by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Nwabachili, and the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, the 2025 budget will carter for the completion of road projects awarded in 2024 and the new ones that would kick off in 2025.
She said that already, about 540kms are active out of which over 300 have been completed, saying that Governor Soludo wants Anambra to be the first choice destination of investment in Africa.
Mrs Nnake explained that the budget size of over N606 Billion comprises capital and recurrent expenditure, covering infrastructure and economic aspects.
She added that the budget contains N101 Billion increase in Education from that of 2024, while development of leisure parks, completion of the Solution Fun City, development of four heritage sites in the state will cost N10 Billion.
Mrs Nnake added that the budget has N103. 8 Billion which the state will drive through internally generated revenue to complement the federal allocation in order to actualize the capital and recurrent budget of 2025.
