Round of 16 action continues at the ongoing African Cup of Nations on Monday with two surprise teams Cape Verde and Mauritania going head to head.
Cape Verde topped Group B which also includes African giants Ghana and Egypt.
They finished with 7 points winning two and drawing one while Egypt who exited the tournament last night came a distant second with three points and Ghana third with two points
Their opponents, Mauritania played in Group D with Angola Burkina Faso and Algeria. They finished third with three points and qualified as one of the four best third place finishers
Mauritania earned its first-ever AFCON win to reach their first knockout spot.
The second match of the day is between defending champions Senegal and host Ivory Coast
Senegal, the only country to win all their group matches are favoured to beat the host who narrowly made it to the round of 16 stage
Winners of the two ties will meet in the quarter final.
