The Action Peoples Party (APP) has extended an invitation to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to seek re-election under its platform in 2027.
This call was made by the state APP Chairman, Sunny Wokekoro, during a solidarity visit by the party’s immediate past leadership.
Wokekoro emphasized that Governor Fubara is not a member of the APP and does not own the party. He stated that the party would make a statement in the upcoming local government elections and is determined to change the narrative in the state.
The APP chairman, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), criticized the PDP for losing its relevance and urged politicians with integrity to leave the party.
He expressed his desire to persuade Governor Fubara to join the APP for his re-election bid and invited other well-meaning members of the State and National Houses of Assembly to join the party.
National Chairman Uchenna Nnadi commended Wokekoro for bringing the party to the limelight in the state.
The invitation to Governor Fubara comes amidst speculations of his potential defection from the PDP, which he has denied.
