Governor Alex Otti has utilized the two-day Executive Retreat for the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in Abia State draw their ears and challenge them to do justice to their new offices.
During the retreat, he had addressed the Permanent Secretaries and challenged them to enhance their competencies, foster effective collaboration, and lead the way in reforming the civil service.
He also emphasized the high aspirations of the people of Abia and the need for a smooth work environment between the Commissioners, other government appointees, and their staff in the Ministry.
He further encouraged the Permanent Secretaries to conduct a thorough assessment of the people they work with and ensure that they have the right personnel in the right roles. It’s all about finding the best fit for each position and maximizing efficiency.
He then congratulated the new Head of Service and the Permanent Secretaries on their appointments.
“I have full confidence in their abilities and I know that they will be diligent and accountable in their work. We have high expectations for them and we won’t tolerate any underperformance or dishonesty. Together, I believe we can achieve the best outcomes for Abia State”.
