The Senate of the 10th National Assembly, on Tuesday, organized a valedictory session in honor of a business mogul and Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. Until his demise, he was the Senator representing the good people of Anambra South Senatorial district, Anambra State, at the red chambers.
The atmosphere was somber as the Senate suspended the day’s plenary and dedicated it in honor of a colleague who has paid the debt he owes death. It was a moment to once again, reflect on the life and times of the Late Senator and the transience of our earthly sojourn as death is mortal man’s eventual end. Everyone will, one day, certainly pay the debt, albeit the hour is uncertain.
In honor of the Late Senator Ubah, principal officers of the Senate like the Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio adorned the traditional attire of the South Easterners as a good number of distinguished senators present took turns to pay glowing tribute to the Late distinguished colleague for his contributions to the Nation building, the economy and polity being a serial entrepreneur, politician and a passionate federal legislator.
Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Kassim Shettima, GCON, was also in attendance.
